College of Teacher Education

Vision

We, in the College of Teacher Education inspired by the love of Christ, in the virtue of Mary and the Zeal of St. Paul, our patron, envision ourselves as community of disciples, committed to the formation of the youth as shares in the teaching ministry of Jesus Christ towards the building of a humanistic and productive Filipino society.

Mission

We commit ourselves to:

  1. Be instrument in spreading literacy and eradicating poverty of knowledge;
  2. Continually strive for spiritual growth, personal integrity and professional excellence;
  3. Pledge to encourage and promote innovations creativity towards the attainment of educational goals;
  4. Value and preserve our Filipino cultural heritage; and
  5. Reach out to the morally, physically and materially deprived through unbiased service.

BACHELOR IN SECONDARY EDUCATION

  • Major in Biological Science
      • Started in 2002
      • The Bachelor in Secondary Education major in Biological Science program is designed to train world-class teachers for science education, who are equipped with appropriate pedagogical, scientific and critical thinking skills imbued with gospel values for training students to meet the demands of our country’s national development in this era of globalization.

BACHELOR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

  • Major in Special Education
  • Major in Pre-School Education

Started in 2008

At the end of their academic training, the graduate will be able to:

  1. PERFORM his/her role as a CATHOLIC TEACHER in the community
  2. IDENTIFY THE SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS that affect the Filipino student and his family;
  3. CRITICALLY AN SCIENTIFICALLY ANALYZE the different factors contributory to these problems;
  4. APPLY SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE in providing solution to social, economic, political, health, and other interrelated problems;
  5. COLLABORATE AND COORDINATE with government, non-government, people’s organizations and religious sectors in finding solutions to problems; and
  6. MANIFEST ACQUIRED HABITS, ATTITUDES, AND VALUES of a true integrated Christian Filipino teacher as manifested in the following:
  • Compassion for the needy;
  • Sensitivity to the growing demands and requirements of education for the young; and
  • Respect for the rights, values, views, opinions, feelings and ideas of colleagues and co-educators.

 SPUI Basic Education offers the following:

  • Guardian Angel Learning Center (Pre-Nursery Class)
  • Kindergarten 1 & 2
  • Grade 1 (Starting AY 2012-2013)
