Basic Education Department

The Basic  Education Department of St. Paul University Iloilo aims to:

  • Provide pupils sufficient knowledge and understanding of Christ through the utilization of their talents and abilities for service of God and others;
  • Promote leadership abilities through active participation in school and community activities;
  • Lead pupils to appreciate the finer and nobler things in life;
  • Inculcate good values among pupils who  will  become an embodiment of moral and spiritual strength;
  • Develop   pupils to    be pro-God,      pro-people,    pro-life, pro-nature and pro-nation.

  • Program Description:

    The Senior High School Program adheres to the Vision-Missionof St. Paul University Iloilo and to the Department of Education K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum Framework of developing holistically developed Filipino with 21st Century Skills.

    Implemented on August 2016, in adherence to the K to 12 Basic Education Program of the Department of Education, the St. Paul University Senior High School aims to produce holistically developed learners who have 21st century skills. It places emphasis on student decorum and community service as it adequately prepares students for middle-level skills, entrepreneurship or higher education.

    Program Outcomes:

  • utilize the acquired skills, competencies and learned concepts in the pursuit of their chosen career disciplines;
  • apply critical thinking and life-long learning skills in their day to day life situations;
  • show mastery of the fundamental concepts and knowledge that serves as foundation to the more advanced models in the professional courses;
  • apply basic research skills to practical studies relevant to their chosen strand;
  • model the Paulinian and Filipino values in school and in the community;
  • practice servant leadership in activities in school and community;
  • volunteer in programs and activities that will promote the good of the poor and the underprivileged in the community; and
  • exemplify the Paulinian core values of Christ –Centeredness, Commission, Community, Charity and Charism.
