My Dear Paulinians,
Greetings of Peace and Good health!
Welcome to St. Paul University Iloilo! Welcome to schoolyear 2020-2021.
First of all, wherever you might be today, I hope you are all well, safe and healthy! This schoolyear we embark on many new things, as we meet the challenges brought about by the Covid19 pandemic. As we all know, this pandemic has changed so many things in our lives. We now wear face masks and face shields. We avoid social and public gatherings. We maintain physical distancing. Face to face classes are not allowed.
My dear students, we live now in tough and challenging times. Tough times can give rise to tough questions. Tough times will bring about tough answers. Tough times will demand tough people. Tough times will test us to bring the best and worst in us. I pray that the better of us will surface through if we are to survive tough times. And best of all, let us not forget, we have a tough God.
In these trying times our God is our strength. God is always with us. He is near us, taunting us to give our best shot in any given situation according to our potentials and given opportunities. God is in our frontliners caring for those afflicted with COVID19. God is with our brothers and sisters who generously shared food, water, and other supplies to those who are in need.
The big word now is Flexibility. As Paulinians, we will not allow this crisis to bring us down, but rather, as one Paulinian family we will move forward and rise above the storm. Together as one Paulinian family we will go through these tough and challenging times with confidence and trust in our loving God. We will journey together to reach your dreams and goals in life.
As we have heard very frequently said “learning must not stop.” St. Paul University Iloilo in response to the call of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED ) and the Department of Education ( DepEd), to ensure the safety of our students and all stakeholders, while making learning available, will continue its mission of providing quality Paulinian education thru Paulinian Flexible Learning (PFlex). This is adopted to ensure continuity, equity and accessibility in the delivery of Paulinian education. The curriculum for SY 2020 -2021 is also streamlined to adapt to the current situation. The curriculum shall foster essential performance outcomes from the SPCEM Outcomes – Based Education (OBE) Framework and the Most Essential Learning Competencies of the DepEd and Program Outcomes of CHED. On the other hand, Christian formation activities will continue to be provided to strengthen our living out of the five Paulinian Core Values or the 5 C’s: Christ-centeredness, Charism, Community, Commission, Charity.
Perfect love casts away fear (1 John 4:18)”. Every Paulinian is driven by love. With much hope and love in our hearts, we will navigate these challenging times together.
Welcome to schoolyear 2020-2021!
We welcome all of you to your home,St. Paul University Iloilo!
