Last December 7 to 8, 2013, aspiring nurses flocked numerous testing centers around the Philippines to take the Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) given by the Board of Nursing. After 30 working days, last July 15, the list of passers was finally announced. Out of 35, 475 examinees, only 10, 977 passed. Of this 10, 977 NLE Passers, 68 were SPUI graduates and one of them ranked 8th–Ms. Sydney Florence Albaran Iragana who got the score of 84.80.

The over-all performance of St. Paul University Iloilo, College of Nursing for the December Board Exam is observed from the percentage of the passers, which is 97.14% and with a national passing percentage of 30.94%. The number of SPUI graduates who took the examination is 70, 64 of which are first timers and 6 repeaters. Of the 64 first timers, all of them passed, raking a 100% passing rate. As for the repeaters, only 4 passed, resulting to 66.67% passing rate. In general, SPUI ranked 4th in the list of top performing Nursing schools with 50 or more examinees in the December 2013 Nurse Licensure Examination as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010.
According to PRC Board News, December 2013 NLE consists of five (5) parts namely: Nursing Practice I (Basic Foundation of Nursing and Professional Nursing Practice), Nursing Practice II (Community Health Nursing and Care of the Mother and Child), Nursing Practice III (Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychological Alternations – Part A), Nursing Practice IV (Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychological Alternations – Part B) and Nursing Practice V (Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychological Alternations – Part C).
