Strengthening SPUI Advocacies
St. Paul University Iloilo held simultaneous meetings with SPUI employees to strengthen the awareness and the promotion of the University’s ADVOCACIES.
The SPUI Advocacies were created to enhanced the consciousness and capabilities of the Faculty, staff, and students and other stakeholders as well as to promote environmental conservation, protection of life, adherence to peace and social justice and preparedness and management for the risks of the occurrence of disasters.
These are:
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
PRO-LIFE
PEACE
AND
DISASTER RISK AND REDUCTION MANAGEMENT.
Objectives of the advocacies:
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP – To promote responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conservation and sustainable practices.
PRO-LIFE – To advocate respect and care for human life from conception to natural death by promoting a culture of life and love in accordance with the Catholic Church teachings.
PEACE – To promote the culture of peace including all the values, attitudes and forms of behavior that reflect respect for life, for human beings and their dignity and for all human rights, the rejection of violence in all its forms and commitment to the principles of freedom, justice, solidarity, tolerance and understanding between men, women, children and groups and individuals.
DISASTER RISK AND REDUCTION MANAGEMENT – To enhance preparedness in dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies, including response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters. It also promotes management of resources before, during and after the disaster, natural or synthetic.
