Paulinian alumni are welcomed home

The 64th Grand Alumni Homecoming was celebrated last February 8 and 9 with 127 jubilarians. The following were the participating jubilarians: Wood Jubilarians (5 years) who graduated last 2009, the Tin Jubilarians (10 years) who graduated in 2004, Crystal Jubilarians (15 years) who graduated in 1999, Porcelain Jubilarians (20 years) who graduated in 1994, Silver Jubilarians (25 years) who graduated in1989, Pearl Jubilarians (30 years) who graduated in1984, Coral Jubilarians (35 years) who graduated in1979, Ruby Jubilarians (40 years) who graduated in 1974, Sapphire Jubilarians (45 years) who graduated in 1969, Golden Jubilarians (50 years) who graduated in 1964, Emerald Jubilarians (55 years) who graduated in1959, and Diamond Jubilarians (60 years) who graduated in 1954.


New memories to remember by. Jubilarians celebrating being together again.

Before the main event took place, last February 6, an international nursing forum was held with the speaker one of the sapphire jubilarians of the batch Jomarians, Ms. Cecil Palomar Jalandoni.  Sharing to young Paulinians the knowledge and experience of numerous successful alumni is aimed at empowering the young generation to take the big leap after graduation and thus become an inspiration to other Paulinians and to the society too.

After the mass, alumni enjoy themselves during the socials and welcome program.

The main alumni homecoming took place on February 8 which started with the Eucharistic Celebration at the St. Paul’s Hospital Chapel with Rev. Msgr. Amadeo Escañan, HP as main celebrant and three other priests as co-presider, namely, Rev. Fr. Paul Solomia, Rev. Fr. Rey Zerrudo, and Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Legayada, OFM, who is a pearl jubilarian, graduating with the degree AB Mass Communication in 1984. After the mass, welcome program, socials, and business meeting took place at the Fr. Louis Chauvet Multi-Purpose Hall of St. Paul University Iloilo. During the meeting, the treasurer, Ms. Ma. Elena Copina and president, Dr. Chris Sorongon, presented their reports. Moreover, the election of officers was conducted. Here are the officers and board of directors for 2014 to 2016. Dr. Christ Sorongon remained as the alumni association president, Mrs. Elmi Pamin as the Vice President for internal affairs, and Mr. Jaresh Ng for external affairs, Mrs. Lalaine Cristales was elected Secretary, Mrs. Anunciacion Pampliega was elected Assistant Secretary, Ms. Elena Copiana as Treasurer, Ms. Edsa Tadiaque as Assistant Treasurer, Fr. Reynadlo Legayada as PRO, Mr. Aquilino Daayata as Business Manager, Mr. Greg Palomar as Auditor, Mrs. Aurea Alyssa Garrido as Alumni Coordinator, and the following are the present board of direactors: Rose Rubias, Eileen Ladiao, Cleo Detanoy, Sira Mae Bandal, and Willy Ko. The day ended with games, mob dance, fellowship lunch, and renewal of loyalty.

The alumni homecoming ended on February 9 at Sunset Terrace, Hotel del Rio with a sumptuous fun-filled dinner. The jubilarians presented special numbers and the evening ended with a dance.
