Out of the 37, 887 nursing graduates who took the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE) last June 2-3, 2013, only 16, 219 passed, as revealed last July 8, 2013 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
Majority of the Paulinians who took the examination were mid-year graduates and from the following batches: Carissima Vox Dei, Lux Remedii Domini, Amoris Christi Carmen, and Angeli Salutares Caeli. Forty-eight Paulinians proved successful in passing the exam, but unfortunately, seven others were not able to make it to the cut. In consequence, St. Paul University Iloilo (SPUI) garnered a passing rate of 87.27 % and a national passing rate of 42.81%.
Last December 2012 PNLE results, SPUI had a passing rate of 94.74%, producing 72 licensed nurses. Moreover, SPUI ranked fourth in the nationwide ten top performing schools on the said NLE examination. The reviewers of St. Paul University Review Center aim to hit the mark again for this coming December PNLE.
For those who passed the PNLE last June, one successful Paulinian has this to say: “I could not describe my feeling at that time but the only words that came from my mouth were thank you, Lord, imu gid ni (this success is truly Yours)…As what we all June Board Examination Takers believe, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (PH 4:13).”
Last June 10 at the University Gymnasium, the Paulinian board passers thanked their clinical instructors and the University President, Sr. Carolina S. Agravante, SPC for their support in making their dreams come true.
