Paulinian Educators Trained on SOLO Framework for OBE Teaching

A two-day seminar workshop held on August 12-13 at Saint Paul University Iloilo (SPUI) equipped tertiary level educators with a deeper understanding of the SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcome) framework and its application in Outcomes-Based Education (OBE).

Facilitated by Dr. Mardy D. Verano, Lead Trainer and Operations Head of Edustudio Learning Review and Training Services, the training focused on integrating the SOLO taxonomy into Paulinian’s OBE curriculum.

Participants learned to design and develop instructional resources that would effectively support OBE in college and be seamlessly uploaded to the new learning management system for Academic Year 2024-2025.

Dr. Verano, a seasoned educator and expert in the field, shared valuable insights, strategies, and practical mechanisms on OBE and the SOLO framework.

Likewise, the faculty members were immersed in interactive sessions, engaging in group discussions, and working on practical exercises to solidify their understanding and skills.

As the educators continue to apply the learnings from the workshop, SPUI is poised to deliver an even more impactful and effective educational experience for its students.
