The 75th Grand Alumni Homecoming of St. Paul University Iloilo united Paulinians from across the globe for a series of meaningful events this January, celebrating the institution’s legacy of excellence, service, and community spirit.
The festivities included a medical and dental mission and a blood donation drive on January 5.
On January 12, the One Paulinian Family Walk brought together alumni, students, and families to celebrate unity.
This was followed by the Paulinian Salvo on January 17, which welcomed participants with energy and excitement, setting the stage for the grand Gala Night on January 18.
Held at the Iloilo Convention Center, the event, themed “Step Back in Time: A Night of Jazz, Opulence, and All That Glitters,” provided a dazzling evening of nostalgia and fellowship.
A Celebration of Achievements
The event also provided opportunities for reflection on the university’s legacy and achievements.
Sr. Teresita Baricaua, SPC, the university president, emphasized how the homecoming was a chance to celebrate the institution’s growth and its unwavering commitment to its core values.
The event symbolized how the university has evolved, embracing modern innovation while staying true to the ideals that define Paulinians.
Similarly, the milestone was seen as a time for alumni to look back at their shared journey.
For Jaresh Ng, the SPU Iloilo Alumni Association president, the homecoming was a meaningful occasion to honor the enduring legacy of the university, a legacy built on the contributions of its students, faculty, and alumni throughout the years.
Showcasing Excellence with the PAULS Award
A significant highlight of the homecoming was the introduction of the PAULS Award.
This accolade was established to honor alumni and community members who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields.
Recipients of the award exemplify the values of St. Paul University Iloilo through their dedication to professional excellence, community service, and lifelong learning.
The PAULS Award not only recognized these outstanding individuals but also served as an inspiration to the entire Paulinian community, showcasing how the values instilled by the university can lead to meaningful achievements and positive societal impact.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Another centerpiece of the homecoming was Paul’s Talk, where accomplished alumni shared their journeys of leadership, innovation, and service.
These sessions were designed to inspire current students, highlighting the global achievements of Paulinians and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
